St Clement's Church of England Primary School

Attendance

Hello St Clement's Families.

We are excited to tell you about our new role as Family Liaison and Attendance Officer at St Clement's Church of England Primary School. You will find us welcoming you into school each morning at the drop off gate until 8.45am. We are eager to get to know each and every one of you, so please come and say hello if you see us.

We are both thrilled to introduce you to our new attendance mascot,  Clemie the Crab. They will be visiting classrooms when a class achieves the highest attendance for the previous week. Keep a look out when you are walking around school as you may be able to spot them.

We are really looking forward to working with our Eastchurch Families and are already impressed by the enthusiasm we have seen for being at school, and on time so far.

          If you feel that you need support or would like to discuss your child’s attendance, please speak to the school office.

Best Wishes

Miss Bromley – Family Liaison and Attendance Officer

At St Clement's we know good attendance is the key to successful schooling. Regardless of the reason, if your child is absent from school it will impact on their learning.

We expect every child to have good attendance;

a minimum of 96.5%

Attending school regularly gives your child the best possible start in life. It enables them to keep up with their learning and form good habits in preparation for the future.

It is the responsibility of parents and carers to ensure their child goes to school regularly and arrives on time.

It is important to be punctual as persistent lateness can be counted as unauthorised absence. Arriving late to school is unsettling for children and means they miss key information and important at the beginning of lessons.

Being on time shows a pupil is ready and willing to work as well as developing a sense of responsibility and forming good habits.

Children will be welcomed in to school from 8.30am but MUST be in school by 8.45 am.
